Friday’s Favorite on Saturday Morning

Psalm 56:8-13 ” You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?  When I cry out to You, Then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me.  In God (I will praise His word), In the Lord (I will praise His word),  In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?  Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You,  For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, That I may walk before God In the light of the living?”

Sometimes, the words just won’t come.  The heart is filled with the everything of Who you are, and yet I find no audible nor written way to convey the flame within.  The Spirit moves and I am only able to “sing unto Thee”.

Oh How I Love Jesus!

Ephesians 2: 8-10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling
And You’ve told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love, and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling
And You’ve told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

Friday’s Favorite

I intended to forego today’s Friday’s Favorite.  However, after much time in the Word and prayer, I believe this song is the perfect introduction to my five-part series ” Actions Do Speak Louder… “.

Search your heart, allow the Holy Spirit to use the truths of this song to set the tone for your weekend.

Luke 5: 30-32 ” But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with such scum ?” Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor — sick people do.  I have come to call sinners to turn from their sins, not to spend my time with those who think they are already good enough.”
