Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Awareness Day 2012

It’s quite sad when someone tells me the reason God hasn’t healed me of my ongoing illness is because I have “unrepented” sin in my life.  It’s happened to me twice in the last 5 years and it’s very disheartening.  It actually made me feel like I was a “lesser-than-them” Christian, but in my heart I KNEW better.  One person was a very dear friend of mine…and then she started attending a church (I won’t give out the denomination) that believes God heals everyone, but only if there heart is clear of sin.  The other person was a hospital chaplain!  Imagine lying in a hospital bed having a chaplain (one who is supposed to comfort?) read you a text from Genesis, then telling you the text means you are NOT in a right relationship with the Lord Jesus.  By the way, the Scripture was taken out of context, and literally applied to those Jewish people who were not following the LORD.  After he left, I just bawled like a baby.

To all those afflicted with chronic diseases, conditions or illnesses, I offer this post on Fibromyalgia Awareness Day 2012.  May you rest in your Savior’s loving arms daily~~for He alone is the One that gives  “peace that passes understanding”, “joy unspeakable”!

HE understands even when the world does not.  Praise Him!

 THE VOICE OF JESUS

I can feel the voice of Jesus,
Saying ” Be still and know I am here;”
I know what you are going through,
And remember that I am near.

I know you do not understand,
But in time I will reveal,
All these things that do not make sense,
Are yet a part of My great will.

There is something that I am showing you,
And some day you will see;
The struggles that you are experiencing now,
Will draw you closer in your walk with me.

It is in this time of suffering,
That you’re gaining more wisdom and faith;
And I have so much more in store for you,
But right now be patient and wait.

You need some time to learn and grow,
As I guide you through each day;
And though it seems you are all alone,
I am holding you all the way.

In your time of weakness and your pain,
Your strength I will make strong;
I will show you life in a whole new way,
Leading you to the place that you belong.

Although right now it seems unfair,
Be aware on what sights are set;
Because I have a job just for you,
And I’m not finished yet.

You are so very blessed if you look around,
And I love you oh, so much;
I have not turned you away,
I want you to feel my touch.

Please don’t get angry and never give up,
Let your faith in Me bring hope;
And when you feel like you are slipping away,
Hold strong to my Hand as your mighty rope.

All things work for good if You’re trusting in me,
So you always have to believe;
It may not look so good to you now,
But there are many blessings you are going to receive.

If I can create the Heavens and Earth,
Then know I can take care of you;
So you need not worry about anything,
Just wait and watch what I can do.

Come to me daily in conversation and prayer,
Stay focused on My word;
And I will guide you each step of the way,
As My revelations to you are made heard.

Rest assured that you will overcome,
This trial will one day be past;
But the lessons learned and the gifts that are gained,
Forever they will last.

Live each day with glory and praise,
Be an example that others might see;
And when they ask where you find your peace,
You can then tell them all about ME!

There is joy, hope and peace in knowing the Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Everyday is a new day to share the the glorious Gospel message of grace and forgiveness; the blessings of hope; the Father God's eternal promises; and the importance of living daily in the will of God according to the Scriptures, especially now with the world in chaos and uncertainty. My life before I repented of all my sin, was washed clean by the blood of the Lamb of God-- Jesus Christ and was born again; was one of utter selfishness in every aspects of my life. I lived for ME and only me! Now I live for my Lord and soon coming King, rejoicing daily. I earnestly desire to share the message of the Gospel, encourage sisters/brothers in Christ by fervent prayer and studying the Holy Scriptures more each day. 2. I suffer from fibromyalgia, severe osteo-arthritis, bone spurs, and Epstein Barre Syndrome. All have been linked to past physical abuse I went through as a child, teen, and adult, except the Epstein Barre. I’ve had the same thing happen to me, where someone will say God isn’t healing me because of past sin in my life. I immediately quote I John 1:9 to them, and ask if they doubt the complete and total forgiveness of sins that God promises in this verse. If I have brought all my sins to the Lord Jesus for forgiveness, than he promises to forgive them all, cleanse me of them, and to wipe the slate clean completely, so why would he hold them against me and not heal me? After that I’m usually met with a dumbfounded look, because they can’t go against God’s Word. I’ve come to know that God sometimes allows us to live with illness to teach us a lesson. For me, I’ve never feared dieing because I know where my eternity will be, but I feared living with tremendous pain. Well, that is what I’m living with, and learning that with God’s help I can even face this. I, also, have always been a hyper personality who never depended on anyone, because I knew I could do it myself. I’m am now learning a lesson in patience, trust, and leaning on the Lord to help me through. I’ve learned that through this, if I keep my eyes on the Lord, and in his Word, that he will show me why I’m not healed, and why it is his will for me to go through this, if only to encourage others facing the same thing, and learn myself that Christ is my strength in weakness. Hold on to this, and he will see you through each day.

    1. Oh bless you so much for sharing!! I have more than just fibro myself, everything you have plus B-12 anemia, had cancer 2 times, and more. However, everything you said I “believe” as much as you.
      Our Holy Father knows what He’s doing and why! Trusting Him for everyday is sometimes not easy especially when the pain is as intense as “labor’…but I just hang on to Him, as you do. For anyone who believes that when we trust Jesus Christ as our Savior we are automatically healed of any physical ailments is not spending enough time in the Word. We are healed from the punishment of an eternity separated from Him!! Our sins are forgiven!! PRAISE YOU LORD JESUS and HEAVENLY FATHER!
      I, too, have learned that through my physical afflictions, I have the abundant “time” to be with my Lord and Savior in the Word and prayer much more than others. That is a blessing (even for out going me).
      I would like to add you to my prayers daily.
      May He bless you and hold you close!

      1. Thank you, Stephanie, Prayers are always appreciated, and I will pray for you too. The next time someone questions your faith and why you are not healed, tell them you know you will be healed…that day we receive our new bodies in Heaven, and until then you will continue to allow your Savior to make his will known through your illness, and despite your illness. God bless you.

      3. So true, and I don’t think people who believe you aren’t healed because of sin in your life understand that God uses those with illnesses to use it to bring glory to Him, and that is a very judgemental way for them to think.
