Every morning, after I get dressed and my coffee is ready, I head to my little patio space in the back of my apartment building and sit in the stillness. This spot is where I begin my day with the Lord (except in the dead of winter). Some mornings the skies are cloudless with a deep blue hue, other mornings are partly cloudy and some mornings the clouds are deep, dark grey because there is a storm brewing. But, there is one constant… the little birds I feed year round. As these little creatures sit on the feeders chirping and singing captivating melodies, I realize just how defenseless and harmless they are. Then I am reminded of what we are told by Jesus…
“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10: 29-32
I rejoice in the knowledge of just how much we are loved. He loves all of us so very much, it’s difficult to comprehend! Yet it is REAL— and TRUE— and HONEST— and PURE! Because we deserve it? NO! Because it is His character.
1 John 4: 7-10 says ” Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
Hey Stephanie, well I see I “liked” you twice! Oh how I also enjoy and look forward to the stillness of the morning on our backporch. Living in the South, I can be alone with the Lord…and the birds…from March through November. So thankful.

Thank you, Stephanie
Please be so kind as to save a spot for me… My days are so rushed these days, I hardly spend as much time with Papa as I would like. Your post brought back memories and longing…thanks for inspiring me. Tomorrow will be different.
“My prayer is that you know how much you mean to the Creator of the Universe, our LORD God and receive His love each new day with a thankful heart.”
Thanks for praying for us too 🙂
Blessings,

God’s love is incomprehensible. There is NO way we can understand it – but praise God, we know the REALITY of it as we experience it.
I think of the words of a song George Beverley Shea sang:
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
His love is never ending and always new.
What an amazing God!
