I just spent the past 2+ hours reading posts from blogs I follow. (I lost track of time and forgot I had clothes in the dryer and my comforter hanging on the clothes line.) I’m amazed at the way in which the Spirit of God moves His children. There are days when I will read several (and sometimes many) bloggers who’ve posted something with the identical message from God’s Word. (Hope you follow me here). Well, today the topic seems to be “sound doctrine”! I will give you links to a few blogs and their posts at the end of my post. The Lord led me today to the Gospel of Matthew. This is what I would like to share. No commentary from me, just the Word. The Holy Spirit will speak the Truth to you if you read it with the prayer of knowing, for the glory of the Father, what it means.
Matthew 10:32-39
32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. 34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”
These are the conditions our Lord Jesus Christ gave to the twelve disciples after He’d chosen all of them. It is no different for us today, if we are truly forgiven children of the Almighty God. This entire chapter is an amazing look at what our Savior expects from those of us who chose to follow Him.
May you be blessed, energized and prayerfully moved by this message from our Savior.

I was just discussing this with my friend on here, Juliana..you probably know who she is..you would love her if you don’t. Simply Juliana. It is amazing how God works, and how the Holy Spirit confirms Himself, isn’t it? Oh, you might really like the conversation the Lord and had a few hours ago. It fits ‘somewhat’ into the category..being that it is ‘sound doctrine’ 🙂 God bless you and I always look forward to your posts, and your comments! http://lynleahz.com/2012/09/25/the-gift-hear-what-the-lord-said-today/

Wonderful post, Stephanie! Yes, the conditions are no different for those who will choose to be the disciples of Jesus Christ today! “Our Lord is expressing that, He must be Lord of all, or He will not be Lord at all, in our lives!” After reading your post, I revisited something I posted a while back on this topic! Yes there is a cost to discipleship, but the rewards are so much more rewarding and far greater than the cost to us! I would rather have Jesus more than anything, this world can afford today! I’ve counted up the cost, and I have decided to follow Jesus, yes I have! Praise the Lord! Thank you so much Stephanie! My heart was truly blessed! May the Lord bless you!

Thanks for another challenging message Stephanie.
Discipleship is a great need in the Church today. People are not saved just to sit in a Church building every Sunday and carry on as usual the rest of the week. We are saved to serve. We are called to be disciples. We are called to count ourselves as dead to self and to self-will. We are called to be alive to God, ready to follow His will in every area of our lives.
That might sound negative, but it is the most positive action possible, with the most positive results – an abundant life; a life in communion with the omnipotent creator triune God, who undertakes for us each step of the way.
What an amazing God!

Thank you Angela for a wonderful response. Yes, death to self (being truly HIS) does give us ” a life in communion with the omnipotent creator triune GOD, who undertakes for us each step of the way”.
You summed it up so beautifully… thank you!
We are one day closer to meeting our Savior…
Praises!!!

Thank you Stephanie for another strong post. Discipleship has a price that one must be willing to pay. I’m afraid we live in a culture and a world that yells God is love, and so He is, but the world whispers that God’s love is sacrificial, and so must be ours.
