Another “new” Gospel??

I’m gonna set aside all the hemmin’ and hawwin’ and definitely upend some of you, but I have something I MUST say!   There’s another new Gospel out there.  Don’t let it fool you and cause you to stray from the Truth.  I’m currently studying the letter Paul to the church at Galatia and  I’ll tell ya… he wasn’t messin’ around with his rebuke and setting them straight when they strayed from the Truth.  I just want to share what the Word says about twisting the Gospel.  In chapter 1, after Paul’s loving salutation, he “cuts right to the chase” in verses 6-9

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,  which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.  As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

WOW!!!!!   Very harsh words from Paul!  The NLT’s paraphrase says “ I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who in his love and mercy called you to share the eternal life he gives through Christ. You are already following a different way  that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Christ.  Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed.  I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God’s curse fall upon that person. “

Then Paul goes on to remind the Galatians that he didn’t receive the Gospel from man’s teaching, but directly from an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.  Why did he stress that at this point?  To bring them into a place of accepting the reproof and correction that they needed to hear!

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bond servant of Christ. But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.  For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Another WOW!!! here.  Imagine that encounter if you can  “For my message came by a direct revelation from Jesus Christ himself.”   No one else taught him.

This news story somewhat explains the teaching of this new Gospel which is “change how we see our lives…”  Read for yourself and the comments too… very insightful!

There is joy, hope and peace in knowing the Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Everyday is a new day to share the the glorious Gospel message of grace and forgiveness; the blessings of hope; the Father God's eternal promises; and the importance of living daily in the will of God according to the Scriptures, especially now with the world in chaos and uncertainty. My life before I repented of all my sin, was washed clean by the blood of the Lamb of God-- Jesus Christ and was born again; was one of utter selfishness in every aspects of my life. I lived for ME and only me! Now I live for my Lord and soon coming King, rejoicing daily. I earnestly desire to share the message of the Gospel, encourage sisters/brothers in Christ by fervent prayer and studying the Holy Scriptures more each day. 1. Even the smallest twist or turn or addition or subtraction or any human thinking perverts the pure, true Gospel. It needs nothing added. It needs no adapting for ‘modern’ times or cultures. Who dares to think he can ‘improve’ the work of the omnipotent, perfect, living God?

    What an amazing God!
