Matthew 25:35-45 “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ “
Loves makes obedience a thing of joy!
To do the will of the One we like to please
Is never hardship, though it tax our strength;
Each privilege of service love will seize!
Loves makes us loyal, glad to do our go,
And eager to defend a name or cause;
Love takes the drudgery from common work,
And asks no rich reward or great applause.
Love gives us satisfaction in our task,

And makes us humbly glad to have a part.
Love makes us choose to do the will of God,
To run His errands and proclaim His truth;

I think these words from Matthew have a special impact as Christmas approaches. For many of us, Christmas is a family time, a happy time of sharing with family and friends.
However, for many, Christmas is the saddest and loneliest time of the year.
I believe if every blood-bought, adopted child of the living God read this passage from Matthew before going to the shopping mall, and prayed for definite leading of Holy Spirit towards the person of His choice, we would see the hand of God making a difference in peoples’ lives. There are so many lonely, sad-looking people sitting on seats in shopping centres.
Should we provide an EAR to listen to them? Should we provide them with words of comfort and encouragement? Should we provide for their physical needs? Should we help them with spiritual needs?
Of course, the answer is YES! May we be more aware of the needs of others, more in tune with Holy Spirit’s leading and more willing to be used by Him to bring hope to the person and glory to God.

This time of year opens the doors for many true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ to truly show God’s love towards others, those outside the church doors. We should use every opportunity to serve the lost as lead by the Lord.
The hustle and bustle of all the “wordliness” associated with Christ’s Day has disgraced our Savior’s name and I know it displeases the Father.
