***For all my followers and readers… please be patient with me as I going to redecorate my website/blog for the New Year. Only aesthetically… formatting, colors, page layouts, etc.***
NOTE: The content and purpose will remain the same… with maybe a few additions. When the Lord moved me share my new life in Him with others— He also touched my heart with His purpose for this blog/website: learning to be still in His presence on a daily basis was something He told me I needed! The Word says we need time in the Word, time in prayer and time alone with our Father and Lord Jesus, this I call Garden Time.
This is my original post “Garden Time” Feb. 2, 2012
“In the Garden” is a hymn I remember from my childhood that resonates clearly with me after fifty plus years. It reminds me not only my need to be still in Almighty God’s presence, with His Holy Word and a prayerful spirit, but the indescribable joy and peace it brings. The lyrics to Charles Austin Miles hymn are a blessing~
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
I know for a fact, as a mother of seven children, it’s impossible to hear anything clearly in a noisy, chaotic and fast-paced environment. Don’t you agree? As followers of Jesus Christ, are we able to hear spiritually from the Lord when in that same environment? I know we can’t! There is a definite need for today’s Christians to make sure we have “Garden Time” everyday! After all, the LORD told David in Psalm 46:10…“be still and know that I am God…” I believe being still is our intimate, one-on-one time with our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus.
Jeremiah 29: 11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Garden time…I LOVE this…probably borrow the concept someday soon, Stephanie.

Thanks for the heads-up, Stephanie
I just visited Pastor J’s blog (http://jelillie.wordpress.com) and noticed that he had some work done as well. I have been toying with the idea of adding color and pictures, but I keep procrastinating…
I have a blanket of snow on my garden … I shall be happy to find the garden you wrote of and hang out with the Master Gardener for a bit 😉
Blessings

I like the term ‘Garden Time’ for that very special, QUIET time with the Lord. A good garden is a refreshing place, a fragrant place, a peaceful place, a place to contemplate and to praise our great God for the blessings of His creation, and most of all to enjoy the privilege and intimacy of His presence.
Since I do not have a beautiful garden, and if I did, it would be too hot and humid to be there, I’ll settle for my futon while the house is still bathed in quietness in early morning.
