Jesus made a very strong statement to His disciples when He said “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat :Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits . Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs ofthistles” Matthew 7:13-16
If you read the Scriptures and miss the story of salvation, you have missed its message and meaning. Going through the Bible we can trace the person of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.
In Genesis He is the seed of the woman.
In Exodus He is the Passover Lamb.
In Leviticus He is the Atoning Sacrifice.
In Numbers He is Smitten Rock.
In Deuteronomy He is the Greatest Prophet.
In Joshua He is the Captain of the Lord of Hosts.
In Judges He is the Deliverer.
In Kings He is the Promised King.
In Nehemiah He is the Restorer of the Nation.
In Esther He is the Advocate.
In Job He is the Redeemer.
In Psalms He is the Good Shepherd.
In Proverbs He is how we are Pattern our life.
In Ecclesiastes He is our Goal.
In the Song of Solomon He is the One who satisfies.
In the Books of all the Prophets(the lesser and greater) He is the coming Prince of Peace and the Messiah.
In the Gospels He is the Savior and Messiah written of in the Old Testament.
In Acts He is our Risen and Ascended Lord.
In the Epistles He is our Mediator sitting at the Father’s right hand.
In Revelation He is The Returning King and the Bridegroom of the Church.
Salvation of the soul is only possible because of the atonement made by Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins and His resurrection from the dead. But it’s not enough to believe that Jesus Christ did this, it MUST be personally received as “the gift of God” (John 3:16). When that is done, Jesus Christ is then our Savior and mediator between Almighty God and us. But is that all there is…NO! We must then repent and become a new creation who serves God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. As someone once told me “salvation is not like Burger King…you can’t have it your way”. It must be God’s way or no way. Jesus must be BOTH our Savior and our Lord.
Know WHO you believe in, WHAT you believe and WHY you believe it. We are told “…to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within us” ( 1 Peter 3:15) As His faithful, forgiven ones, we are given the Great Commission to “sow the seeds of truth”. Sharing the Gospel message as the Lord leads. Just a few little reminders and verses to help you if you need them.
1) His virgin birth 2) His sinless life 3) His death of atonement 4) His victory over death through His resurrection 5) His work seated at the Father’s right hand mediating for us 6) His return again, which will be visible to everyone.

September 12, 2013: I find it astounding that in a little over a year, the Christian church has branched into multiple “gospels” within these already numerous denominations and their beliefs. Teachings that add to or take away from the Word. Please, please… if you have asked Christ to be your personal Savior– it is your responsibility to KNOW you believe and understand what you’re being taught and whether it lines up with the Word or the World. When you asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior, repented and turn from your sinful life– you became an “adopted child” of the LORD God Almighty. Remember our Savior’s words from Matthew 7! Study the Word for yourself! It is imperative you KNOW the true doctrine from the false worldly doctrine!
I covet your prayers as I continue to work on my current series. May you be blessed this day~~ everyday new day is another day to share the message that saves lives… ♥ Streim
Well said Stephanie. God’s way is the ONLY way.
[I am trying to catch up a bit because I leave early tomorrow for a 1000+km drive north to visit one of my sons and his family. I’ll be away for a week or so and won’t have internet]
