Philippians 4:6-8
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
There is much ado these days about reports of the government taking control of our minds. Let’s face it, we all know something is very wrong in our country and the entire world! That’s unless you live in a world of your own making, or another person’s philosophies or possibly you turn a blind eye because “life here on earth” is suppose to be happy, happy-joy, joy cotton candy sweet. With all the information running on “Bill and Steve’s Super Highway”, better known as the internet (ya know WWW=World Wide Web) that in itself sounds frightening because spiders make webs to catch their “prey”. I will admit that the internet has allowed the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be heard and shared in areas of the world not accessible before. The internet, like all things created by men, serves the enemy of our souls very well.
Anyway, don’t believe everything you read or see EXCEPT the Words of our Almighty LORD God– The Holy Bible! I might get some flack here and I don’t care! I’m not meaning some supposed “new translation” that isn’t a translation at all, but a “thought for thought” idea of what someone thinks that verse says.
We also have books telling us how to pray or how to read the Bible, how to pray and just about anything in the “wide open realm of today’s post-modern Christianity”. I don’t purchase or read Christian self-help books. (I think the term ‘Christian self-help’ is an oxymoron.) Why??
As the Apostle Paul told Timothy : “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:14-17
Every questionable situation we face, even in today’s culture is answered in the pages of Holy Scriptures!
I believe everything we need to know about living the Christian life is found in the Holy Scriptures! The breathed out word of God, given to select ones that the LORD God used as the instruments! ♥ Streim
Wow… Stephanie,
All I can say is AMEN. I believe it is impossible to over emphasize the importance of the Word of God for our lives. It is just as you say, the Word of God is the Christians COMPLETE source of information to live our lives here on earth.
For example, when the Holy Spirit leads us, He does it through the Word of God, not through other sources including visions, dreams etc.
There is so many misunderstandings on this subject in the world in which we live. Thanks for the warning and admonition for all of us to profit from! Lord bless you!

Thank you again Rob for the encouraging words. Some times I just want to “yell”… Prayerfully Read the Word! Nothing else needed for me than that.
