In a live performance of this song Rich Mullins said when he wrote the song, it was as a prayer.  He stated sometimes when he prayed he couldn’t find the right words to express himself, so he would sing them to our Gracious Father in Heaven instead.   This song brings me to my knees… one of my all time favorites.  I’ve included the lyrics, after all, that IS the message!
