The Lord’s Testimony in My Life

Oh how I love Jesus…oh how I love Jesus…oh how I love Jesus

because HE first loved me!

I heard the Gospel for the first time at the age of 21.  I was dating a young man and he asked me to go to church with him. I figured it couldn’t hurt~~but it did!  When the Pastor gave the invitation for anyone who didn’t know Jesus Christ as Savior to come forward, my heart was pounding, but I didn’t move! Several months later I asked Jesus to be MY Savior, in the quietness of my own little home.  Soon after my salvation, the young man and I married. I was very enthusiastic about spreading the Gospel to anyone and everyone.  I was in AWE at this amazing love God had for everyone!  For God to send His only Son to die that horrible death for me, just because He loved me.  WOW!!  My youth was very dysfunctional and troubled, and hearing that someone loved me “just because”…overwhelmed me!! I served Him in every way I could think of…creating a Teen Group in our little church, then a Teen Choir, then Child Evangelism Fellowship- Good News Club, going for a short time to the mission field, then off to Bible College where my husband would train for the pastorate.  I continued serving, serving, serving!  Giving, giving, giving!

Then along comes the enemy of our souls; I had no grounding in my faith, I knew the Jesus Christ as my Savior, but my roots were shallow.  I walked away from my marriage and proceeded to live 26 years wandering in the desert, with as much selfishness and idolatry as the nation of Israel.  Six years ago, my life was spent!  I had lost my mother to cancer, my children (7) were not speaking to me, my brothers were angry with me and I had no home because mine had been ruined in a fire.  The Word tells us the Lord loves those with a broken and contrite spirit~~that was me!!  Well, the Father and Lord Jesus are always there, this time My heart was broken from my sin and transgressions against Him, I wept as I repented and asked for His loving forgiveness.  He held His arms open wide as I rushed into my Father and Savior’s arms.

He is “The Love of my Life”!!

I find great peace and joy in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior, and am honored to serve Him with all He is creating me to be.  I love the Word of God and I am learning more everyday about living the life that is the Will of My Father in this world of chaos.  I live for His glory and honor daily with great joy. I want to share the Gospel, encourage other sisters/brothers in Christ and live the rest of my earthly life according to His will and NOT mine!

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

“It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”  Deuteronomy 31:8
