Remind Me Lord…

Titus was a young Gentile the Apostle Paul led to Christ.  Titus traveled with Paul on several missionary journeys. At one point, Titus accompanied Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem. Paul’s intent during that visit was to preach the Gospel message to the Jewish leaders, in private.  The Jewish leadership expressly told Paul that Titus be circumcised.  Paul opposed this.   Galatians 2:3-5 ”  But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage. But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.”  After Paul’s first imprisonment in Rome, Titus accompanied Paul to preach the Gospel in the east.  Landing on the island of Crete, they spread the Good News of salvation through Jesus to different cities there.  Paul could not stay, so he left Titus to help put in place some the new congregations.  However, Titus met with quite a bit of opposition.  Paul’s short letter is spiritual advice for Titus (possibly in response to a request from Titus).

Titus 3: 1-11 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. Reject a factious (other translations use divisive) man after a first and second warning, knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.”

These first 11 verses of chapter 3 I have read every day for a week.  I was feasting on the Word! (see Deuteronomy 8:3) The spiritual wisdom Paul shared with Titus reminded me as well; as Paul begins this chapter “Remind them…”  Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and discernment when reading this, as with any of God’s Holy Word. ♥ Streim

Contending for the Faith

For several years now I have watched and heard some of the most demonic, sensual and earthly thinking ( James 3:15) and philosophies seep gradually into many  christian(?) churches in the so-called civilized countries of the world.  Large parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand– but mainly here in the USA.  I could write for weeks/months about the many different worldly ‘pinches of leaven’ mixed with the True Gospel.  Why would anyone add hypocrisy  to the truth?   Because it’s more pleasing to the flesh that way , politically correct and touches the feelings of the heart.   Not a good thing for the desperately wicked heart of the natural man.   I’ve written about this topic in different ways since I started blogging.  I devour the Word.  It is so amazing that God Almighty, Creator of ALL things,  gave us desperately sinful mankind; redemption through the shed blood of His only Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  And He’s shared His character to us through His breathed out 100% Holy Word.  And given us the Holy Spirit to discern the Word, if we truly desire His wisdom and ask  faith. (James 3:17).  I just finished a month-long personal study of James.  WOW!!  Our glorious Father reproved, corrected and instructed me everyday.

As I prayed last night,  just before settling in to rest my body, I asked our Father in the name of Jesus to please  help me/ show me ; how/ where to share His amazing Glory that is found in His Word.  In the middle of the night, I woke up completely and recited a verse of Scripture, then went back to sleep.  Yes I was fully awake as I spoke “now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present to faultless before the Throne of Glory, to our Only Wise God and Savior be glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and  forever and ever.  Amen.”

Immediately when I woke up this morning, I definitely remembered it.  I know it’s not verbatim for any translation I use so some of you may pooh-pooh this; but, it was not extra biblical revelation stuff or a profound prophetic event, it was simply the answer to my prayer.  As I write this I’m smiling because the heretics, apostates, evil, sneaky, slimy, glittery, pleasant-sounding words that are “lies from the Deceiver himself”  can not— I repeat CAN NOT   draw us away from our Father and Lord Jesus, because we are promised:

Jude 24-25  Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

So, it’s on you.  What do you prefer?

The Living Water or sparkling waste-treated bottled water?  The Bread of Life or ‘corn beef on rye’?

Blessings to my family in Christ Jesus our Lord.  ♥Streim

Away with Regrets and Fears

For any believer in Christ who is regretting the past and fearing the future, here’s something for you grasp and hold on to.  There is much in the Holy Word of God about ‘doubt’; this is an eye(eyes of one’s heart)opener if you’re looking to the Heavenly Father for hope.

Exodus 3: 13-14 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”  And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

Only the Creator of all things can call Himself “I AM”.  This is an absolute!  The Almighty Creator of all things said He was the Eternal One… always was, is and shall be.  He alone is sovereign over all things!  He alone cures regrets from the past and removes fears of the future.  He does it personally for each one of us through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  NOT just believing Jesus existed and exists as shown recently in mainstream media.  More is involved.  Salvation through the Perfect Lamb of God.  Here are some reference verses for you.  CAUTION:  some of the words in these verses may “sting your ears” ! Romans 3:24-25; 5:1 and 13; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:1 and 38-39; Colossians 1:20-22; Colossians 3:9-10

The Holy Bible tells us how we need to live!  Period!  Nothing added–nothing taken away.  All the books in christian bookstores about how to ‘da da da’; you know the self-help fix-it books.  Throw them away!  I will say as I always do… adopted blood bought children of Almighty God MUST read the Word.  James tells us the difference between the wisdom of man and Godly wisdom. (James 3:14-18.)  Read it and store it in your heart.    ♥Streim the Truth
