I sat here wondering what I wanted to share today…
Hoping your days are filled with melodies joyfully sung to the Lord in your heart. ♥ Streim
I will be doing a design change on my blog and also for those of you that use Facebook creating a page for “Hope and Peace in an Uncertain Word”. In the meantime, I would like to give you something to ponder….
I’ve noticed that when I write a short post and add a photo or a video… it receives a larger response. When I write a post filled with Scripture and a message of truth… I get a lesser response. I’ve followed some blogs that post single verses and have an enormous response— and others that teach the truth according to Scripture get a minimal response. Question for you— Why? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you. May everyone thank our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for His unending love ! ♥ Streim
This is for clarification and correction of errors I made in yesterday’s blog post. In the middle of my writing I was disturbed (and distracted) by unexpected visitors. After they left, I decided to proceed and finish the post, but the “still small gentle voice of the Holy Spirit” moved me to save it and finish at another time. I actually sat here at my PC and said out loud “But I want to get this done and post it”. And so I did!
I omitted some very important Biblical truth which the Lord pointed out to me this morning after re-reading the post. I am thankful to our Gracious Heavenly Father that during my quiet time this morning He chastened me! I repented for ignoring His voice. He has forgiven me… now I am asking you, my readers to please to the same.
I know that every blood bought forgiven follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is able to discern the Word of God, but only when in honest, heartfelt prayer we ask our Heavenly Father to use the indwelling Holy Spirit to discern– kinda like decode it for us. So before we begin reading, it is imperative for us to pray and ask the Author of the Word to join us as we read. Since I’ve found the best way to read and study the Bible is in coordination with the Holy Spirit, I believe we must get into the habit of praying and asking God to open our hearts and minds to the full impact of His words. Asking our Heavenly Father to stir the Holy Spirit before we begin to read the Bible is more than a spiritual formality. It’s essential to fully appreciate Scripture. Since the Bible was written by God through man, I believe that it’s best read by man through God. Without the Holy Spirit’s discernment, it’s impossible to comprehend the Bible. There is where I made my error… I didn’t listen to the only One able to discern.
I know, too, that it’s impossible for a non-Christian to read and understand God’s Word; because when he does it’s like swimming through murky, deep waters. When I didn’t listen to the Holy Spirit’s urging yesterday I was in the middle of John 1:12… Some if not all my comments written after that is where I erred from Truth— I was attempting to do it “on my own”. I went swimming in mucky, deep waters. If I could, I would pull that post and put a big X over my comments from that point on and write “To be continued…”
I’d like to offer a few more pieces of honest wisdom. ” Read the Bible every day, try your best to read it first thing in the morning and final thing before you go to bed. Opening and closing each of your days by spending quality time with God will improve your relationship with the Lord Jesus and our Heavenly Father. And, when our relationship with Him is right… so will all our other relationships be. ”
Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
In Luke 24:25 when Jesus, after His bodily resurrection sat and ate with His disciples Luke wrote “Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,”
Psalm 5:3 “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Psalm 55:17 ” Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray , and cry aloud : and he shall hear my voice.”
Ephesians 1:13 ” In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed , ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise”
I will study verses 12-14 of John again, with the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and resolve the problems of Our Journey Through the Gospel of John 2 at a later time. Thank you for reading and following my blog. My earnest desire is that some who do not know our Lord Jesus Christ as Savior will accept God’s gift of eternal life and for fellow brothers and sisters in Christ I pray, something the Lord prompts me to write will help you in your walk with Him. ♥ Streim
