It’s God’s Way or No Way

Jesus made a very strong statement to His disciples when He said Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat :Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits . Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs ofthistles”  Matthew 7:13-16

If you read the Scriptures and miss the story of salvation, you have missed its message and meaning.  Going through the Bible we can trace the person of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.

In Genesis He is the seed of the woman.

In Exodus He is the Passover Lamb.

In Leviticus He is the Atoning Sacrifice.

In Numbers He is Smitten Rock.

In Deuteronomy He is the Greatest Prophet.

In Joshua He is the Captain of the Lord of Hosts.

In Judges He is the Deliverer.

In Kings He is the Promised King.

In Nehemiah He is the Restorer of the Nation.

In Esther He is the Advocate.

In Job He is the Redeemer.

In Psalms He is the Good Shepherd.

In Proverbs He is how we are Pattern our life.

In Ecclesiastes He is our Goal.

In the Song of Solomon He is the One who satisfies.

In the Books of all the Prophets(the lesser and greater)  He is the coming Prince of Peace and the Messiah.

In the Gospels He is the Savior and Messiah written of in the Old Testament.

In Acts He is our Risen  and Ascended Lord.

In the Epistles He is our Mediator sitting at the Father’s right hand.

In Revelation He is The Returning King and the Bridegroom of the Church.

Salvation of the soul is only possible because of the atonement made by Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins and His resurrection from the dead.  But it’s not enough to believe that Jesus Christ did this, it MUST be personally received as “the gift of God” (John 3:16).  When that is done, Jesus Christ is then our Savior and mediator between Almighty God and us.  But is that all there is…NO!  We must then repent and become a new creation who serves God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  As someone once told me “salvation is not like Burger King…you can’t have it your way”.  It must be God’s way or no way.  Jesus must be BOTH our Savior and our Lord.

Know WHO you believe in, WHAT you believe and WHY you believe it.  We are told “…to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within us” ( 1 Peter 3:15)  As His faithful, forgiven ones, we are given the Great Commission to “sow the seeds of truth”.  Sharing the Gospel message as the Lord leads.  Just a few little reminders and verses to help you if you need them.

1) His virgin birth 2) His sinless life  3) His death of atonement  4) His victory over death through His resurrection  5)  His work seated at the Father’s right hand mediating for us  6) His return again, which will be visible to everyone.

September 12, 2013: I find it astounding that in a little over a year, the Christian church has branched into multiple “gospels” within these already numerous denominations and their beliefs.  Teachings that add to or take away from the Word.  Please, please… if you have asked Christ to be your personal Savior– it is your responsibility to KNOW you believe and understand what you’re being taught and whether it lines up with the Word or the World.  When you asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior, repented and turn from your sinful life– you became an “adopted child” of the LORD God Almighty. Remember our Savior’s words from Matthew 7!  Study the Word for yourself!  It is imperative you KNOW the true doctrine from the false worldly doctrine!

I covet your prayers as I continue to work on my current series.  May you be blessed this day~~ everyday new day is another day to share the message that saves lives… ♥ Streim

What’s Love Got To Do With It? Pt. 1

    Acts 25: 35 “… remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said , “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.

elderly couple 2

A very poor man lived with his wife.

One day, his wife, who had very long hair asked him to buy her a comb for her hair to grow well and to be well-groomed.

The man felt very sorry and said no.  He explained that he did not even have enough money to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken.

She did not insist on her request.

The man went to work and passed by a watch shop.  He went in and sold his damaged watch at a low price; then left and bought a comb for his wife.

He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife.

Surprised… he stared at his wife’s hair.

She had cut and sold her beautiful long hair.  In her hand was a new watch band.

Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions, but because they loved the each other more than they loved themselves.

Full Surrender

Matthew 8:4-38  When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.  For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

A police officer once asked me the secret to a victorious Christian living.  I told him there is no magic formula.  But if any word could describe it, it would be surrender.

You may ask, “How can I surrender my life?”  It is surrendered in the same way that salvation comes to the sinner.  There needs to be confession of sin and completely yielding of every area of our lives, personalities and wills to Jesus Christ– plus faith that Christ will accept that commitment.

It’s not enough for us to make a decision for Christ at an altar.  We cannot walk successfully in the glow of that experience for the rest of our lives.  We need to return and renew those vows and covenants with the Lord daily.  We need to take inventory and have regular spiritual check-ups.

Daily surrender–that’s the key to daily victory!

One of my favorite hymns:

“Take My Life”

Take My Life and Let It Be
Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise;
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

Each new day is just that!  A new day to live, love and learn of our Lord Jesus and Father’s love.  Then, prayerfully “share” it with all we meet.  Have a blessed weekend.
