2 Corinthians 1: 3-6 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.”
Romans 15: 1-6 “We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, ‘The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.’ For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
- Mandilyn’s ultrasound showed the current treatment is not working. This tumor is not the same as the previous one. Her doctor said “It must be removed as soon as possible.” When she called me, the fear and sadness in her voice was apparent, only broken by her tears. She has no insurance with her current job, which only adds to her sorrow. The Lord is working in some marvelous ways to relieve her of the financial burden. She spoke to me Tuesday evening and said “Mom, I KNOW that God is in control and sometimes things like this happen and we wonder why, but someday in the future we find out.” Her heart belongs to Jesus Christ, her faith in God is there… but she’s still walking in the way of the world. I ask that if the Holy Spirit brings Mandilyn to mind, pray as lead. I am so grateful to all of you my brethren for sharing this burden of mine.
- Today JoJo sees her original pediatrician for a referral to an orthopedic specialist from Children’s Hospital. Missy (my daughter) also knows God is sovereign in all things and is trusting Him with this strange condition. I know Missy is most grateful to any and all that are praying for little JoJo.
- Me— my shoulder is a mess. I have a tear in one of the three tendons in the rotator cuff, much swelling around the joint itself–add tendonitis and bursitis with all three of the tendons. It is also possible there is a tear under the cap that covers the ball and socket itself. As for the fall… quite a lot of bruising, nothing broken, just a few bruised ribs. A few minutes ago I received a call from my nurse, I am scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon on Feb. 6th. If this requires surgery, I am going to be “out of commission” for some time. But I KNOW that “all things work together for good…” and I can’t wait to see what wonderful things He has planned for me– meeting new people, sharing the love of Jesus Christ. I must say, our Father is comforting me in miraculous ways. My deepest thanks to all for your prayers.
The Lord is able to give peace to the troubled conscience, and to calm the raging passions of the soul. These blessings are given by him, as the Father of his redeemed family. It is our Savior who says, Let not your heart be troubled. All comforts come from God, and our sweetest comforts are in him. He speaks peace to souls by granting the free remission of sins; and he comforts them by the enlivening influences of the Holy Spirit, and by the rich mercies of his grace. He is able to bind up the brokenhearted, to heal the most painful wounds, and also to give hope and joy under the heaviest sorrows. The favors God bestows on us, are not only to make us cheerful, but also that we may be useful to others. He sends comforts enough to support such as simply trust in and serve him.
