Danny’s God

Danny Dutton, an 8-year-old boy from in Chula Vista , CA . was asked to do a homework assignment.  It was a writing assignment; the topic  “EXPLAIN GOD”

EXPLANATION OF GOD:  One of God’s main jobs is making people.  He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth.  He doesn’t make grownups, just babies.  I think because they are smaller and easier to make.  That way he doesn’t have to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk.  He can just leave that to mothers and fathers.

God’s second most important job is listening to prayers.  An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime.  God doesn’t have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this.  Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off.

God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy.  So you shouldn’t go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad’s head asking for something they said you couldn’t have.

Atheists are people who don’t believe in God.  I don’t think there are any in Chula Vista.  At least there aren’t any who come to our church.

Jesus is God’s Son.  He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn’t want to learn about God.  They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him.  But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father that they didn’t know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K.

His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn’t have to go out on the road anymore.  He could stay in heaven.  So he did.  And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God.  Like a secretary, only more important.

You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.

You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there’s anybody you want to make happy, it’s God!

Don’t skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong.  And besides the sun doesn’t come out at the beach until noon anyway.

If you don’t believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can’t go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can.  It is good to know He’s around you when you’re scared, in the dark or when you can’t swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids.

But. . .you shouldn’t just always think of what God can do for you.  I figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.

And…that’s why I believe in God.

(note: these are his actual, unedited words)

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Once again I am humbled by receiving another award.  I would like to thank Faith at www.faithrises.com  for this nomination.  I pray that what the Lord gives me to share is inspiring and also encouraging.   Actually, these awards are difficult for me to accept… because this blog is for the glory of our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ.  Sometimes I think that possibly these awards from other brothers and sisters in Christ are an example of what Paul meant when he wrote letters to the churches and individuals.

” I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,”  Philippians 1:3

” I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers,” Philemon 1:4

Award Guidelines:

1)      Display the award logo on your blog.

2)      Link back to the person who nominated you.

3)      State 7 things about yourself.

4)      Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them.

5)      Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.

Hmmmm… Now I must tell you seven “things” about myself?

  1. I love being outdoors, God’s creation continues to amaze me, even with the mess “man” has made of it.
  2. I don’t get involved in politics, I’ll be writing about that soon.
  3. Tomorrow is my birthday… I think?  Getting too old to remember! 🙂
  4. I don’t know how to swim.
  5. I save everything (so my kids tell me), but I don’t… once in a while I do throw a twist tie away from a bread wrapper.
  6. I was married on June 14th… my first child was born on March 14th.  🙂  (9 month anniversary)
  7. I am always looking to the clouds… waiting and ready

I would like to nominate a young man who is a true inspiration to me.  On his blog http://dailyaspects.wordpress.com/  he is sharing his walk with the Lord.  I do not know his name, as he chooses to remain anonymous.  Since I began reading his blog, I rejoice every time he makes another glorious move into becoming the servant of the Lord he desires to be.

I would also like to nominate another Lisa at Life’s Little Slices  http://alookintomymind.wordpress.com/.  Her blog touches on today’s issues within the Body the Christ that some may not like, however, I respect the fact that she is willingly to follow the Lord’s will for her life.  Check out her blog… you will find some very interesting information!

Let us all rejoice in our salvation, so freely given to us who deserve nothing from a Holy God— and yet, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to be the atonement we so desperately needed.  Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say REJOICE!

Thank You Prayer Warriors!!

Hello my dear brothers and sisters in Christ… and fellow prayer warriors.

  • The surgery went almost exactly as planned, however my daughter’s recovery isn’t as smooth as she would like, but she KNOWS that our Awesome God is in control!!
  • As for the drought, here where I live it rained and rained almost the entire time I was gone.  Eight out of ten days we got  rain, we received almost 4 inches I am told.  I know others places haven’t received any, so I am continuing to pray for the rest of the country where rain is MUCH needed.
  • My close friend’s husband is in ICU, if he returns home Hospice will be coming in.  I awoke at 5 am this morning and couldn’t sleep so I went outside, sat on my patio and prayed for the family until around six o’clock.  I believe he is ready to go… and I am trusting the Lord that He will use his passing as a time for renewed relationships within the family.

After spending the past 10 days with my 18 month old grand daughter and her big sister, who is 7 years old,  I am going back to something I wrote a few months back and re-posting it below.  The reason… the joy, love contentment and complete dependence on me, as Gamaw, brought this post to mind.

I will be responding to all of you personally… but this Grandma needs some rest.

I have missed your uplifting words, messages, poetry and photos.  I have a lot of catching up to do.

May Our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ be the “center” of all you do!  Every little thing you do, do all to the glory of God!  Many blessings to all!

Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatsoever thy hand finds to do , do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
