Biblical Survival Tips For Your Walk With Jesus

Read and study the Word~~Matthew 4:4 “But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ “

Spend time quietly in the LORDs presence~~Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Pray always with thanksgiving~~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Trust God’s Sovereignty in all things~~Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Be obedient to Jesus words~~John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,  and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints– “ Ephesians 6:10-18

Watch Out For Your Toes

WARNING!  Watch out for your toes!

In Luke chapter 6, Our Lord Jesus Christ gets right down to the “nitty-gritty” of what it means to be a true disciple of His.  He meant these words when He spoke them and He means them now!  Our God hasn’t changed  and neither have His Words.  However, it seems many are getting side-tracked by the clamour of vain, empty words heard/read/seen in the media.  And sadly, in churches across this country as well.   If, and I believe we are, in the days of tribulation then we must be getting ready for our Lord’s return.  That means our daily focus should be on TWO things.  First, obeying the commands of the Lord and secondly getting oil ready for our lamps ( Matthew 25:1-13 The Parable of the Ten Virgins).  In other words, getting the Gospel message to the lost and fixating our hearts and minds on the Word of God and not the “words of the world”.

27  “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.

29a To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also.

29b And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.

30 Give to everyone who asks of you.  And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.

31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.

32 But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?  For even sinners love those who love them.

33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.

35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.  For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

The carnal mind balks at the statements Jesus made here.  But we, as His Bride in preparation,  are not carnally minded, but spiritually minded.  We, as the Church have a blessed place in the events of God’s plans for the world.  The more we believe what God has done and IS doing, it is our responsibility to live in the light of His Word!

The Apostle Paul sums it up it Romans 12: 20-21  Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Remember above all things, it is written ” Vengeance is mine; I will repay saith the Lord”

(Romans 12:19b; Deuteronomy 32:25; Psalm 94:1)

Pray Without Ceasing…

My prayer for you today…

Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,  and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.

Be at peace among yourselves.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Rejoice always,  pray without ceasing,  in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Do not quench the Spirit.

Do not despise prophecies.

Test all things; hold fast what is good.

Abstain from every form of evil.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.  1 Thessalonians 5:11-24(NKJV)
