Friday’s Message in Music (a day late…)

I cry aloud with my voice to the Lord; I make supplication with my voice to the Lord.  I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him.   When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path.  In the way where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.  Look to the right and see; For there is no one who regards me; There is no escape for me; No one cares for my soul.  I cried out to You, O Lord; I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.  Psalm 142:1-5  NASB
As long as we are in this world, we will have trials and troubles.  Knowing we have a Father who hears our cries of help, as well as our words of worship is a comfort.   May it bless you as well.  ♥ Streim

Friday’s Message in Music

Sometimes the night was beautiful
Sometimes the sky was so far away
Sometimes it seemed to stoop so close
You could touch it but your heart would break
Sometimes the morning came too soon
Sometimes the day could be so hot
There was so much work left to do
But so much You’d already done

CHORUS:
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You’ll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

Sometimes I think of Abraham
How one star he saw had been lit for me
He was a stranger in this land
And I am that, no less than he
And on this road to righteousness
Sometimes the climb can be so steep
I may falter in my steps
But never beyond Your reach

CHORUS

And I will follow You all of my days
And I will follow You all of my days
And step by step You’ll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days
And I will follow You all of my days
(Sometimes the night was beautiful)
And I will follow You all of my days

In a live performance of this song Rich Mullins said when he wrote the song, it was as a prayer.  He stated sometimes when he prayed he couldn’t find the right words to express himself, so he would sing them to our Gracious Father in Heaven instead.   This song brings me to my knees… one of my all time favorites.  I’ve included the lyrics, after all, that IS the message! Friday’s Message in Music

Psalm 100 ” Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations. “

I hope that you know the reality of our God’s Sovereignty.  “The great ‘I AM that I AM’ “.  No matter what your circumstance today, if you know the Lord Jesus Christ personally through His redemptive blood and blessed resurrection, He is with you. Praise and worship the LORD God!!  ♥ Streim   (**so sorry- earlier link was incorrect song**)
