Prepare…Don’t Panic…Pray

One the greatest battle grounds for a Christian is SELF!  We are warned many times in the Word that following the desires of self;  whether it be the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes or the pride of life,  we are walking on very dangerous ground.  Sometimes even the slightest “self” things get in the way of having an abundant day with our Father and Lord Jesus.  Here’s a short fictional, yet practical example of what I mean.

Me: God, can I ask you a question?

GOD: Sure.

Me: Promise you won’t get mad?

GOD: I promise.

Me: Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?

GOD: What do you mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late.

GOD: Yes.

Me: My car took forever to start.

GOD: Okay.

Me: At lunch they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait.

GOD: Hmmm.

Me: On the way home my phone went dead just as I picked up a call.

GOD: Okay.

Me: And on top of all that, when I got home I just wanted to soak my feet in my new foot message and relax, but it wouldn’t work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did you do that?

GOD: Well, let me see. The Death Angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.

Me: (humbled): OH…

GOD: I didn’t let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.

Me: (ashamed)

GOD: The person who made your first sandwich today was sick and I didn’t want you to catch what he has.
I knew you couldn’t afford to miss work.

Me: (embarrassed): Ok…

GOD: Your phone went dead because the person who was calling was going to give false witness about what you said during that call. I didn’t even let you talk to them so that you would be covered.

Me: (softly) I see, God.

GOD: Oh, and that foot message had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn’t think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I’m sorry God.

GOD: Don’t be sorry, just learn to trust me in all things, the good and the bad.

Me: I will trust you.

GOD: And don’t doubt that MY plan for your day is always better than your plan.

Me: I won’t, God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything today.

GOD: You’re welcome, child. It was just another day being your God, and I love looking after my children.

There is joy, hope and peace in knowing the Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Everyday is a new day to share the the glorious Gospel message of grace and forgiveness; the blessings of hope; the Father God's eternal promises; and the importance of living daily in the will of God according to the Scriptures, especially now with the world in chaos and uncertainty. My life before I repented of all my sin, was washed clean by the blood of the Lamb of God-- Jesus Christ and was born again; was one of utter selfishness in every aspects of my life. I lived for ME and only me! Now I live for my Lord and soon coming King, rejoicing daily. I earnestly desire to share the message of the Gospel, encourage sisters/brothers in Christ by fervent prayer and studying the Holy Scriptures more each day. 1. Such a beautiful reminder to trust God in the things that we don’t understand in life. His ways are so much higher than our own and even if certain things don’t turn out the way we’d like them to, how they turn out is always for our best according to God’s perfect Will and plan. Thank you for this Stephanie. Be blessed!

  2. I often wonder why I change my mind at the last minute. I have a pretty good idea why.

For instance, why did I decide to take a different route to the shopping centre? What might have happened if I had travelled the ususal route?

Why did I decide ‘out of the blue’ to ring my sister when I did? How did I know she was in need of help?

Our loving triune God has undertaken to care for each of His blood-bought, adopted children, and He does so. We do not know how often He intervenes on our behalf, but we praise Him for His protection and we ask for His continued guidance.

    What an amazing God!

  3. Indeed we may not understand WHY some things happen the way it happened, but it’s comforting to know that God is in control! 😉 And He will surely reveal things to us and give us wisdom to realize that what we thought worse, was actually the best way for us to prosper and be able to serve our purpose. 🙂

    ISAIAH 55:8-11
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

    So much blessed! 🙂

    1. First thank you for stopping by. Yes, He is an amazing Father and Lord who truly allows nothing to happen to His children without His divine purpose.

    1. Thank you for stopping by! I did read “A Father’s Love Letter?” Amazing… beautifully filled with the truth of Who our Father and Savior is!!
I read your about me page. I, too, am a survivor but only by the grace of our loving Lord! I thank our Lord Jesus for sending our women such as yourself to minister to others who know what it is like to be “unloved”.
Yes, reblog it any time you wish. May you be blessed as well.
